Terms and conditions
The terms on which SEND Guidance provides its services to parents, carers, schools and settings.

About SEND Guidance
SEND Guidance is a special educational needs and disabilities consultancy run by Claire Andrews. It offers guidance, preparation and advocacy support to parents and carers, and consultancy, training and supervision to schools and settings. It does not provide legal advice and it does not provide legal representation. Claire does not act as your solicitor and does not represent you before a tribunal. Where formal legal support is appropriate, she will say so and, where she can, point you towards suitable sources of help such as your local SENDIASS service. The support provided is intended to leave you better informed and better prepared, but no particular outcome can be guaranteed from a review, an assessment, a local authority decision or a tribunal, because those depend on many factors that no one here controls.
About these terms
These terms set out the basis on which SEND Guidance provides its services. By booking a service or sending an enquiry, you agree to them. If you have any questions about them, please get in touch at claire@sendguidance.co.uk before booking.
The services
SEND Guidance provides information, guidance and practical support relating to special educational needs and disabilities, including clarity calls, EHCP reviews, annual review support, mediation and tribunal preparation support, as well as consultancy, CPD, supervision, mentoring and SEMH support for schools. The specific service you receive will be the one you book and pay for, as described on this website at the time of booking.
Booking and payment, parents and carers
Payment is made in full when you book, by bank transfer. Claire will send you an invoice with the bank details, and once payment clears she will confirm your appointment and send anything she needs from you beforehand.
If you would rather spread the cost on the larger packages (£345 and above), you can pay half on booking and half before the work is delivered. Just ask.
Booking and invoicing, schools and settings
A purchase order confirms your date. Claire will invoice after the session, or after the final session of a block, with payment due within 30 days.
For multi session blocks and packages, the full block is invoiced at the start unless you would prefer it split.
Changing or cancelling, parents and carers
You can reschedule once, free of charge, with at least 48 hours notice. Inside 48 hours, or if an appointment is missed, the fee is not refundable.
Claire understands that SEND life is unpredictable. If something serious happens, tell her. She will always try to find a way round it. If Claire ever needs to cancel or rearrange an appointment, you will be given as much notice as possible and offered an alternative time or a full refund.
To cancel or rearrange, email claire@sendguidance.co.uk as far in advance as you can.
Changing or cancelling, schools and settings
On site half days and full days need 10 working days notice to cancel or move. Inside that, 50% of the fee applies. Inside 48 hours, or on the day, the full fee applies.
Online sessions need 48 hours notice. One free reschedule is always available.
If Claire has to move a date, you will be offered the next available slot and there is no charge.
To cancel or move a booked date, email claire@sendguidance.co.uk as far in advance as you can.
Travel and service area
On site work for schools and settings is delivered across a 30 mile radius of Prescot, which covers most of Merseyside, Cheshire West, Warrington, St Helens, Wigan, Halton and West Lancashire. Travel within that radius is included in the published prices, and no mileage is added to your invoice.
Outside 30 miles, sessions run online via Teams at the same prices. On site visits further afield are possible by arrangement and are quoted individually. On site visits are booked as half days or full days. Single 60 or 90 minute sessions are online by default, or can be delivered on site for an additional £30 where Claire is already in your area or you are within the radius.
Late payment
For schools and settings, Claire reserves the right to charge statutory interest on invoices that remain unpaid beyond the agreed terms.
Confidentiality and data
Claire holds personal information only for as long as it is needed to deliver the work, and does not share details of a child, a family or a school without consent. Information you share, including information about your child, is treated in confidence, and your personal data is handled in line with the privacy policy. Your information will not be passed to your school, your local authority or anyone else without your agreement, unless Claire is required to do so by law or reasonably believes someone is at risk of harm.
Your right to cancel, parents and carers
You have 14 days from booking to cancel and receive a full refund. If you need the work to start sooner than that, Claire will ask you to confirm in writing, and if you then cancel you will be charged for the work already done.
Your responsibilities
So that Claire can give you the most useful guidance, she asks that you provide accurate and complete information about your situation, and that any documents you share, such as an EHCP, are ones you are entitled to share. The guidance given is based on the information you provide, so its usefulness depends on that information being accurate.
Liability
Claire takes care to provide these services professionally and to a high standard. To the extent permitted by law, she is not liable for any decisions you make, or outcomes that follow, based on the guidance she provides, as final decisions and their consequences rest with you and with the bodies responsible for your child’s provision. Nothing in these terms limits her liability where it cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Intellectual property
Any written materials, templates or resources provided to you remain Claire’s intellectual property and are provided for your own use in relation to your own situation, or your own setting. Please do not reproduce or share them for commercial purposes without her permission.
Changes to these terms
Claire may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to you is the one published on this website at the time you book a service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
Contact
